Medieval Church Lego Moc

Using my childhood brick collection I wanted to build a church to put in my castle town. Didn't have enough gray bricks, so decided to try white. Afterward I read that churches were often white-washed at the time, so thought it turned out well. Went with gray accents-just looked to see what pieces I had and how I could add them-kind of turned into flying buttresses. That combined with the windows really broke up the white. The bell tower was really the start of it and I built out from there with what roof pieces I had. I think it turned out pretty good. I like how it is almost timeless and can be placed in not only the castle layout like I plan to use it, but I can also put it in with port, or town themes. The only real difference is this one doesn't have pews, because there normally wasn't anything but a bench around the outside walls, and maybe a few seats in the front for nobility. Introduction

I recently dug out my childhood Lego collection, and re-built some of my old kits, and started getting into building MOCs. Wanted to take photos to be able to look back on my creations when I inevitable re[purpose the bricks for another building. Decided to put them in a blog as an easy place to store, and so others could see them if they might find them enjoyable or helpful to their own Lego building.

Lego Imperial Trading Port MOC

One of the first things I built coming out of my "Lego Dark Ages"-first MOC I built in years or decades!! You see, I liked LEGO 6277 Imperial Trading Pos t, made up my mind too late that I wanted it that holiday season and it wasn't available in the local store anymore, I think we even called Lego and they were out, this was before the days of the internet. But my friend and Lego buddy got it-when he threw out the box, I kept it. Then a year or two later, something exciting happened, he decided he'd "outgrown Lego" and wanted to sell his collection and my Dad bought it for my sister and I. I built the set up, added my gun station from 1723-1: Castle / Pirates Value Pack , and built an extra building to go with it. It looked something like this for many years, even after I quit playing much, I had it on a shelf and liked looking at it.
